Here's just one example: "The insurance company, which ensured five of the motorists involved in yesterday's accidents, were unable to exculpate its clients from blame." Flip ahead to the answers and we discover that the verb "were" should be replaced with "was." Well, yes, as any fourth grader would know - this is hardly advanced strategy for top students. But what about "ensured?" Insurers insure, I assure you. Prospective SAT-ers had better ensure that they buy another book.
