Coding and Modulation for Digital Television (Multimedia Systems and Applications Volume 17) ReviewI'm a young broadcast engineer working on digital terrestrial TV technology and architecture in order to develope the TV industry of my country (Islamic Republic of IRAN )and I need some technical materials about modulation techniques and issues related to this topic. So I have read almost all the books and also I have make an archive contained many papaers and lecture documents in this field. There is below ten books related to OFDM modulation (and also 8VSB !) and the exact number might be 4 item ! However this book contained a fast review of three global DTV systems (ATSC ,DVB & ISDB)from the view point of coding and modulation and also had some usefull issues about modulation and coding techniques ;theory and practical aspects. at the end I can recommend this book for any professional who have not reached a professional level of design and implement of dtv systems and anyone wished to be familiar with DTVs.Coding and Modulation for Digital Television (Multimedia Systems and Applications Volume 17) OverviewCoding and Modulation for Digital Television presents acomprehensive description of all error control coding and digitalmodulation techniques used in Digital Television (DTV). This bookillustrates the relevant elements from the expansive theory of channelcoding to how the transmission environment dictates the choice oferror control coding and digital modulation schemes. These elementsare presented in such a way that both the `mathematical integrity' and`understanding for engineers' are combined in a complete form andsupported by a number of practical examples. In addition, the bookcontains descriptions of the existing standards and provides avaluable source of corresponding references.Coding and Modulation for Digital Television also features adescription of the latest techniques, providing the reader with aglimpse of future digital broadcasting. These include the concepts ofsoft-in-soft-out decoding, turbo-coding and cross-correlatedquadrature modulation, all of which will have a prominent future inimproving efficiency of the next generation DTV systems.Coding and Modulation for Digital Television is essentialreading for all undergraduate and postgraduate students, broadcastingand communication engineers, researchers, marketing managers, regulatory bodies, governmental organizations and standardizationinstitutions of the digital television industry.Want to learn more information about Coding and Modulation for Digital Television (Multimedia Systems and Applications Volume 17)?
