The book discussed issues that Africans in America have faced historically and currently, which was not anything new. The authors also discussed some of their own issues growing up black and male in a country that was founded upon racism and genocide, nothing new there either. However,what was refreshing was the culturally revelant therapies and solutions provided in the book. The authors also gave some excellent references and ideas for formulating an Afro-centric therapy based system for all areas of life. Overall, I suggest this book especially for mental health and social workers.
