Unfortunately the book begins with mistaken premises and moves on predictably to weak conclusions. The book begins with the premise that there was no valid international agreement on the UN Declaration of Human Rights, because the US Senate never ratified it. However, as a declaration rather than a treaty or convention it never required ratification, nor was the Senate ever asked to ratify it. It received the presidential signature which was all that was required. Book concludes with admonishment that students of human rights should not trust in international law at all, as adopted by and agreed to by the United Nations.
